“David and the Tennis Business Academy provide an excellent and long overdue service to tennis coaches. The Academy has an abundance of resources available which are specifically designed for tennis coaches and club managers that you can’t find anywhere else. Not only that but David is always willing to offer business advice in any way he can. His expertise and knowledge of both the tennis coaching industry as well as the wider business world allow the resources provided to be tailored to my company. Joining TBA was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my business.”

“I’m not a tennis coach, and I have found the Academy invaluable. David covers all aspects of what is needed to run a successful and thriving club, and has made me really think about which areas are needing more attention. After just a few months I am confidently posting ads on Facebook, monitoring and evaluating numbers in the coaching program, and have a list of ideas I would like to implement at the Club which I feel the members will love. I'm sure it would benefit anyone else working at or running a tennis club.

Hi, I’m David,

the founder of the Tennis Business Academy. I’m a former ATP ranked player (1 doubles ATP point still counts, right!?), current LTA Level 4 Qualified coach and a tennis coaching business owner based in the UK.

In one way or another, tennis has been in my life for over 20 years. But, from 2014 to 2018, I spent 4 years working at a business consultancy. In 2016 I was promoted to run a department of over 20 consultants and for the next 2 years I helped the department grow to over £2M in yearly revenue. There I learned what it takes to set up and run a successful business.

I created the Tennis Business Academy because I believe that the way in which we run our businesses and clubs matters. I believe that if we want our sport to grow and remain relevant then we need to invest in our off-court skills as much as we do in our on-court skills.

We need to keep working to learn how to market ourselves and our clubs, how to train the next generation of coaches, how to lead a team, how to leverage 21s century technology to provide outstanding customer experiences, to name but a few of the skills necessary to thrive. This is the only way that we’ll be able to build businesses and clubs that will stand out from the competition.

My ultimate goal is to get more people playing and enjoying tennis. If you have a similar goal then you’ll probably enjoy what I do.

I invite you to check out the rest of the resources on this website.
